Fashion That Fits: Denim

A few weeks back I was privileged enough to have been asked by SM Ladies Wear and SM GTW to be a part of their online webisodes called Fashion That fits. I helped style two girls who wanted to learn how to incorporate denim into their wardrobe. Check out the video and let me know what you all think!! Do forgive the awkward face before hitting the play button, HAHAHAHAHA! For those curious cats out there, sadly I didn’t take a look shot of what I wore but allow me to post the details anyway!

Life in Technicolor

Another casual look post coming up! This time I used neon colours to add more character to liven up my look. I have mentioned in an older post that I consider adding neon on to a rather monochromatic outift as a way to brightening it up. In this case, a very basic outfit which can surely use a splash of fun.

I opted for extremely casual shorts and a cropped top but with a hint of dressy-ness (Is that even a word? Haha) by throwing on my ever dependable peep toes with neon heels. With these pieces in mind, I decided which accessories to pick which resulted in this look. A pair or dramatic silver earrings and a neon bangle balanced out the entire look.

| Cropped Top: Mink Pink | Shorts: Topshop | Heels and Silver Studded Bracelet: Primadonna | Clutch: Taking Bag Sunday | Bangle: Veva DeeLuxe | Ring: Random from a Bazaar | Earrings: SM Accessories |

I got the clutch from the online shop called Taking Bag Sunday (very witty brand name I must say!). They have clutch bags, hobo bags, wallets, earrings and many more! Something that got my attention was the fact that it was made of REAL leather. Also, I instantly fell in love with all the interesting designs, and while browsing their site, I made sure to get myself a funky coloured clutch. I love the mix of colours, powder blue and neon green!

While prepping my look for that day, I remember seeing this yummy looking apple green coloured Canon Ixus 125 HS Full HD camera sitting on my desk. I love how the colour matched the stitching on my clutch — And how it fit inside my clutch as well!

This line of Ixus cameras shoot HD videos aside from taking photos. It uses a fancy Canon Zoom Lens and shoots photos with GREAT resolution! 16.1 Mega Pixels to be exact! DAAAAMN!!

PS: Just so you all know, the bandage on my toe is not included (HAHAHA). Do forgive me for allowing myself to wear that for a blog post, I dropped something on my toe a few days before and still couldn’t wear shoes without it hurting when the material would hit it. I’m hoping that it will not be a problem when I walk the streets of Disneyland! AHHHH! I can’t wait!!!

Till the Sun Comes Out

Rain or shine, I promised you all that I will take a look photo, so here it is! I was out running errands today in spite of the bad weather and I really made a mental note to dress up, good enough for a blog post. I’ve had this dress for quite some time now and last I wore it was last Christmas eve but sadly I wasn’t able to take a look photo of it. I thought it was alright to wear it on a rainy day for it will keep me warm and worry free since I didn’t have to take a jacket around with me. I went to meetings, did pull-outs and bank errands. PHEW!

As I was typing this blog post, this song came to mind. I was looking at the photos of myself complete with an umbrella due to drizzles and it made me think how much nicer photos would look if and when the sun was out. I’m looking forward to so many things and one of them is a clear sunny day.

August is a special month for me. Aside from getting older, I have so much in store for this month. I actually feel so blessed for all these things going on for me. When I think of all these blessings, they make me realize that life may be difficult at times but what matters is what you learn from these trials. Yes the sun will come out soon and I am totally stoked for that.

I remember telling you all how I get bags from my abuelita’s closet, my paternal grandmum. This time, allow me to thank my maternal grandmum, Mama Nena for this gorgeous bag! Both my grandmums know how to take care of their belongings allowing me to use them up until now. Also, I decided to wear this bag cause I visited her recently and wanted to mention her on my blog!

Here’s the song I was talking about earlier, it’s Till the Sun Comes Out by Pixie Lott. I know she doesn’t get much credit over here in Manila but I believe she is beyond talented and gorgeous at that! I’d like for you all to listen to the lyrics and you’ll enjoy the song even more. Believe me. It will not only perk up your mood but it will also inspire you to wait for the sun to come up. Keep safe everyone!! Cheers!! xx

The Girl in an Animal Print Kimono

When getting dressed knowing that it’s raining out, one can never assume how good or bad it’s going to get. I always remind myself to wear something that will help keep me warm out, something that won’t make me feel heavy or make me sweat (damn, humidity in the Philippines, HAHA). Also, I make sure that the cover up/jacket I have can easily be removed just in case the weather lightens up.

I opted to use this kimono to help dress up my look since I was in a simple tank and skinnies. Aside from it dressing up my look it kept me warm that afternoon! I also decided to mix prints by using the comfiest heels I have, my Aztec printed Primadonna peep toes. I’m not so keen on the print mixing trend cause I have a hard time incorporating it in my looks but hey, valiant effort I must say!

| Komono: Carioca | Tank Top: Topshop | Skinnies: Cheap Monday | Bag: Gucci | Heels: Primadonna | Necklace: Extreme Finds (Hot Pink and Gold chains) and Apartment 8 (White and Gold) | Ring: + – x ÷ | Bracelet: Given to me by my sister (Pink Leather Band) and Primadonna (Studs) |

To keep this look dressy yet casual I opted to keep my accessories at a minimal — Yes, this for me is minimal, if you know me and follow my blog then you’ll notice that I’d probably wear more rings and layers of bracelets but NOPE, not for this look!

Summer Paradise

I thought of this title while I was writing this post cause it’s been a song stuck in my head. I just felt it was a suitable title due to the colors of my dress, shoes and my beautiful necklace despite of the gloomy weather outside. Let’s not forget that when I took these photos, it was a good bright day!!

I chose this jacket online and look how great it fits. I love the glazed cotton twill fabric and the workmanship is awesome. I love the zipper and pocket details as well. I decided to match it with a tube dress. While planning on what shoes and accessories to wear, I started leaning towards a beach scene. This explains my choice of color for my heels and the shell/beach inspired necklace.

| Jacket: Ministry of Retail | Dress: Zara | Heels: Parisian | Bag: Celine | Necklace: Mu | Hair Elastic: Goody |

Again this bag is vintage. Another one I inherited from my mum. It’s a piece I decided to keep because I think it is just beyond classy. I know for a fact that this can stand fads. That’s how I decide on what goes and what stays. I still go for class and quality. Novelty and too faddish stuff usually fail when it comes to essential points so they’re the first ones to go and I am guided by the saying that, your trash can be someone’s treasure. Right? And, that I have proven to myself.

I will leave you with the song that inspired the post title. Summer Paradise by Simple Plan, who would’ve thought that they’d come out with a song which sounded like this. It’s a great, light and of course catchy song. Perfect for those chill nights or road trips to the beach — Or maybe a possible love song as well! Well, enjoy!! It’s back to watching the 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony for me — CHEERS!
