Miss Middleton

I put my edgy style on hold for this post cause I went for something a tad bit more feminine, mature and well, sophisticated! I picked up my look from one of my style icons of all time — Kate Middleton! I swear, I know it doesn’t seem like me but she is definitely one of my ultimate style icons. I love how she dresses so effortless, chic, clean and (sorry to sound redundant) sophisticated.

It’s been awhile since I’ve thrown on some flared denims and can I just say, I’ve never realized how flattering these babies are!! You will surely see me using these a lot — Thank God I finally found a great pair at Forever 21 — And at a VERY affordable price at that!

The Kate Middleton inspiration for my look comes from two pieces I see her wear a lot when she’s off duty. Denim pants and a comfy blazer. I mixed them together when before I knew it, even my schoolmates and friends were telling me that I looked matured or that I reminded them of Kate Middleton! Haha! SUCCESS!

It was a nice change from my typical edgy and all black ensembles. I think I should dress this way more often — What do you all think? Anyway, off topic — but here are some shots of what went down today, from buying lunch at Razons to this cool mirror at the entrance of our school!

HOW TO: Use Goody’s Spin Pins

Have you ever wondered how those awesome spin pins from Goody work? Well, Dan and I are here to teach you. Just so you all know, she and I went for the whole messy bun approach — But more on that later on! So, let us show you how to use these shall we? Oh but one more thing, THANK YOU to the ever so lovely, Sam Mendiola for helping us and taking our photos for this little how to segment, haha!

STEP ONE:
Gather all your hair into a ponytail. Make it as high or as low as you’d want. You can make it messy or very clean — Like what I said earlier, we opted for the messy high bun.

STEP TWO:
Twist your ponytail. Again make it as tight or as loose as you’d want it to be. When you’re happy with your bun, get your spin pins ready!!

STEP THREE:
Get one spin pin and spin it at the top part of your bun. Don’t worry about it falling a part, just hold it down and it will all be safe and sound! Lookie at what Dan did!

STEP FOUR:
Twist the second pin on the bottom or base of your bun. When you feel like it’s safely stuck on your bun then you can remove your hands from your bun and enjoy your new do!

STEP FIVE:
ENJOY YOUR SPIN PIN BUN!!! I know Dan and I love how it turned out.

I swear this pin is a treasure to have, it can keep you cool on those warm days. Or!! To help give you some volume by giving you some gorgeous surfer girl waves. Go buy a pair — or two boxes for these will save you from having to buy mounts of hair ties. Go run to a shop that sells Goody products now!!! Hurry!!

I know I promised to do a Vlog but as of now I was with Dan and we opted to do a photo tutorial. I’ll try to do the Vlog for another entry, promise!!

SM Fashion Forum Launch

Last Tuesday I was given the privilege (along with my sister) to watch the unveiling of the new additions to SM’s Fashion Forum. It was a very intimate event which served great finger food but even better company. Though I didn’t shop (I’m on a tight budget as of the moment, haha) I did get to look around and my do they have great stuff! If you work and go for the whole day to night dressing then this is the perfect time to hit SM’s Fashion Forum, trust me.

Lookie here! Some familiar faces. Guys, watch out for these two Dan. Dan Duran and Dan Navarro, for they will make tsunami’s in the fashion industry, so get ready for them!! Haha!!

Here are more photos of the store just a few second before the show began. Pretty cool brands are included in this roster I must say!

The even was hosted by none other than Daphne Osena – Paez (who I found out I was related to on my mums side of the family, the Lagdameo side). I even won during the raffle!! I just wish I was lucky enough to score either some Ray Bans or a pair of Gucci sunnies, haha!

Here are some of the interesting pieces I spotted during the show, enjoy!!

From monochromatic pieces to prints galore. I love the way the fabric was manipulated and patternd in these pieces.

The last set of clothes were much more formal and used richer fabrics like chiffon, silk, georgette and the like. Dan [Duran] and I were quite intrigued by the fabrics and shades they used, very nice!!

After the show: SoFA reppin’ at the event!! Woohoo!

Dan and I just needed to have our photo taken with Daphne Osena – Paez and so we did!! She was so nice and even complimented us on what we were wearing and asked about our blogs. HOW COOL IS THAT??

Check out the ever so CHIC, Dan. Gotta love the layering and all the studs on that top! You looked awesome, babe!!

So, what did I wear? Well..

| Jacket: Coexist | Tank top and Skirt: Forever 21 | Bag: Lanvin | Pumps: Charles and Keith | Necklaces: Folded and Hung (Crosses), Luv2Shoppe (Coins) and Mauve (Spikes) | Bracelets: From France (Chunky Beads) and Rosa Artistica (Ring Bracelet) | Connector Ring: MARiS | And my good ol’ Goody Spin Pins to keep my hair in place!!

And after the event, my little sister, Pammy and I hit Forever 21 to go check out their new stuff and boy, I can’t wait to show them to you all!! Btw, I wanna say THANK YOU to my sister PAMMY for keeping me company during the event and when she and I visited Forever 21. I LOVE YOU!!!
